Q. How many times a day will I be emailed/texted?

A. Our automated service runs approximately every 30 minutes - 24 hours a day - checking for new Yahoo Answers questions. On average I get 2-3 emails/texts per day, per search term for certain questions - it really depends on what questions you're looking for - and how many times a related question in asked in a day at Yahoo Answers.

You will only receive one email per item. Example: Even if there are 5 new 'weight loss' questions found, you'll only receive one email and/or one text message notifying you to check the Yahoo Answers website.

Q. What about text message charges?

A. There is no additional charge from YahooAnswerAlerts.com for text messages sent to your phone. However, depending on your cell phone provider and the package you have for your phone - you might incur costs from your provider. We recommend checking your phone plan package to see what sort of text messaging plan you have in place.

Q. How do I stop text message alerts?

A. You can turn off text alerts at anytime by logging into your Member account, and edit your Cell Phone Alerts information. There's a red obvious link on the page that will delete your cell phone info from your account, and thus you won't receive any more text message alerts until you provide that information again.

Q. How do I stop email alerts?

A. Email alerts are the primary notification service of YahooAnswerAlerts.com, so it's not possible to turn these off. If you have no search words entered for us to search for - then you won't receive any email alerts from us.

Q. How do I unsubscribe from emails?

A. If you receive email from YahooAnswerAlerts.com, that is of a promotional nature and not just a email alert - you can unsubscribe very easily. Just click the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of the promotional email and you won't receive anymore promotional emails. We send promotional emails periodically.

Q. Does this service breach Yahoo Answers's Terms of Service?

A. Here's a link to Yahoo Answers's Terms of Use.

Q. Is YahooAnswerAlerts.com affiliated with Yahoo Answers?

A. Nope. Not in any fashion whatsoever. But we love the service they've built, and want to see it get bigger!

Q. Why did I build this tool?

A. I was frustrated at being the 19th person to to try to answer a question at Yahoo Answers. It seems that the question was asked, and I didn't know about it - and 18 other people had already responded with an answer the question. Being one of the first people to answer a question will keep your answer 'above the fold' and give your profile more visiblity.

Q. Am I guaranteed to get alerts for my keywords?

A. I don't guarantee the amount of alerts you will receive for your keyword searches - because this varies greatly depending on the words you've specifically selected, the amount of questions being asked that use those specific keywords, etc etc. I recommend you search Yahoo Answers and see what other words also match your keyword choices. I believe in a 3-prong approach: exact match keywords, similar words, and mis-spellings.

Q. If I'm unhappy with your service, can I get a refund for my lifetime membership?

A. Yes. If you're unhappy with our service, you can contact us to request a refund. Refunds are only issued within the first 30 days after you purchase your lifetime membership. Trial memberships are non-refundable.
